Taking the Helmet of Salvation

Main Passage Eph. 6:17

Main Idea:

Salvation is our assurance that our lives belong to Christ and we are secure in his never-failing love. This one fact means we can charge into battles without being plagued with the fear of failure.  

Into the Text:

1. The most important part of our body is protected by the most important part of the uniform (Eph 6:17). 

 2. Salvation (σωτήριον) means being brought into a state of safety, and thus a hope for the future. 

3. What is salvation? To fully understand salvation, we must first understand lostness (Eph 2)   

a.  Salvation is obtained by (Eph 1:13-14)

i. Perceiving the Gospel

ii. Believing the Gospel

iii. Receiving the Holy Spirit
