Grandparenting Matters

“Only be careful and watch yourselves closely so that you do not forget the things your eyes have seen or let them fade from your heart as long as you live. Teach them to your children and to their children after them.” – Deuteronomy 4:9

Ministry Mission: To inspire and equip grandparents to be instrumental in leading their grandchildren to love and follow Jesus.

Vision: Every grandparent at Concord is empowered to be an intentional spiritual influence in the lives of their grandchildren.

  • We value living for Jesus in the community – with grandchildren, our adult children, and other grandparents.
  • We value being intentional in what we say and do to build faith in others.
  • We value learning and growing as disciple-makers and evangelists.
  • We value blessing and serving our families.
  • We value equipping grandparents through every age and circumstance.
  • We value being people of prayer and knowing and living the Bible as our guidebook for life.

THE LEGACY COALITION’S ANNUAL Grandparent SUMMIT (register here)

October 20-21, 2022 — Thursday/Friday

The 2022 Legacy Grandparenting Summit 2022 will be held on October 20-21 at Canaan Baptist Church, 5409 Baumgartner Road, STL, MO 63129.

This event is a simulcast of the national Legacy Grandparenting Summit which takes place this year in Jacksonville, FL, and is broadcast to multiple sites throughout the US. The Summit offers practical help to assist grandparents as they seek to pass their faith and values to their grandchildren.

This year’s event features nationally known speakers like Anne Graham Lotz, Larry Fowler, Tim and Darcy Kimmel, Crawford Loritts, and Gordan MacDonald. The local rebroadcast is a joint ministry of Concord, Canaan, South County Baptist, the Baptist Homes, Healthcare Ministries, the St. Louis Metro Baptist Association, and the Jefferson County Baptist Association.

Early registration is $49.00. This reduced rate is only available through this Sunday, July 31. Those who register will also receive free lunches on both days. Pastor Tim and our Sr. Adult Spiritual Development team are excited about this event and encourage all grandparents who can sign up.

Please use this link to sign up now: https://brushfire.com/legacycoalition/simulcast/530223/

This practical and significant event is the work of the Legacy Coalition. Larry Fowler, who has devoted most of his life to ministering to children as one of the national leaders of Awana, recently stated the challenge of grandparents today when he said, “Most grandparents are missing important opportunities to pass on their faith to their grandchildren. At Legacy Coalition, we help grandparents grow in their biblical role through our resources and events, so they can have a greater spiritual impact on their family…”

This event can make a real difference in the type of grandparent you are, which can, in turn, make an eternal difference in your grandchildren’s lives. It’s worth your time. Please don’t put off signing up today.
