Rusty Wirt
Pastor Rusty serves as Concord’s Senior Pastor. In this role, Pastor Rusty is our lead communicator in our Sunday services. He provides oversight and leadership to Concord’s Senior Staff. He is responsible for working with the church’s Leadership Team and casting a church-wide vision for our ministries.
Rusty is a Veteran of the United States Army, Infantry. He has earned a Bachelor’s (B.S., Dallas Baptist University) and two Master’s (ThM, Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, and MDiv, Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary). Before coming to Concord in 2015, he was trained through the North American Mission Board as a church planter. In western Kentucky he planted Community Fellowship and served as its senior pastor for over 14 years.
Rusty is married to Sherri, his beloved wife since 1994. They have two children (Samuel and Star) and love living in South County. Sherri is active in Concord’s special needs ministry and is part of several outreach ministries.
Rusty enjoys hanging out with his family, studying theology, drinking coffee, and has developed a passion for long-distance running.
