Wade Burns

Elder

I grew up in a Christian home and served in church from a very young age. At age 12 I felt the conviction of the Holy Spirit and, after a Sunday service, the pastor led me to the Lord.

My wife, Angie, and I have been members at Concord for about 8 years. When we came to Concord, we had been very busy in our previous church and needed some time to ‘rest.’ We found we could take that time at Concord before feeling led to start serving in ministry. We enjoy the fellowship and serving opportunities that Concord has to offer. We have two girls who are also active in various ministries of Concord, including Concord Student Ministry and Worship Fine Arts.

One important book of the Bible for me is Acts and the history of the early church. Being reminded of this model helps me to keep a focus on connect, grow, serve.

I finished one term on the Advisory Council and have appreciated this opportunity. I am willing to take the step into service as an Elder and continue serving in leadership.

A strength I feel I bring  is that I stick to the facts.
